Adding insulation to your home can be quick. In many cases, installation can be performed in a single visit. Find out how well your current insulation stacks up by scheduling an Energy Assessment today.

Insulation is one of the smartest investments you can make in your home because it provides year-round comfort and savings in three important ways:

1. Lower energy bills.
2. Quieter more comfortable living.
3. Healthy home, healthy environment.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, 50 percent to 70 percent of the energy used in homes is for heating or cooling activities. By properly insulating your home, you can create a more comfortable and consistent indoor climate while significantly improving your home’s energy efficiency.

Spray Foam

Combining the high R-Value per inch of Spray Foam Insulation with its extremely low air filtration properties you can achieve a thermal envelope that is superior to more traditional forms of insulation. Investing in Spray Foam insulation will generate significant long-term savings on heating and cooling costs over more traditional insulation methods.

Superior Performance and Long-Term Value:
• Reduce heating and cooling costs significantly by a great combination of R-value and reduction of air filtration.
• No more hot and cold zones – by controlling the air filtration you will experience a consistent comfort in your home.
• Improve air quality – Less air infiltration means that pollutants, dust, and allergens stay outside. Spray foam insulation will also not support the growth of mold or mildew
• Noise Reduction – Enjoy the noise reduction qualities of open cell foam
• Will not sag or settle over the lifetime of your structure

BATTS Insulation

The most common form of home insulation is “Batt and Roll” or “Blanket” insulation. It is typically stored in rolls, is generally made of fiberglass and is the least expensive way to insulate a home or business.

Like all insulation batt and roll is rated on an R-Value scale, which measures the thermal resistance effectiveness to prevent heat transfer of the material. The R-Value increases with the density and thickness of the insulation. A higher R-Value means better insulating properties.

Air Sealing

Insulation helps save energy by preventing heat transfer either into or out of your home (depending on the climate). But insulation is not effective at stopping air from infiltrating through gaps and cracks in the home’s exterior shell or envelope. Therefore, for the insulation to be effective you must seal air leaks before adding insulation.

An added benefit is that sealing cracks and openings reduces drafts and cold spots, improving comfort. The recommended strategy is to reduce air leakage as much as possible and to provide controlled ventilation as needed.
